Announcements

The National Park Board of Education has an open position. Please click HERE for additional information.

National Park School will continue 1:10pm dismissal days through Friday, January 28. This schedule allows us to more effectively address staffing issues. Meals will not be served and will be sent home at the end of each day with the students. Staff will schedule outdoor mask and snack breaks as the weather permits. Just Kids will be open for before and after school care.

The NJ COVID-19 case rate is extremely high at this time and we are in red status. Please review the following information:

  • Keep your child home if they have any symptoms as well as siblings.

  • If your child is unvaccinated and has been exposed to COVID-19, please keep them home and contact us.

  • If your child is vaccinated and exposed, notify the school so that we can discuss the next steps. Please email a copy of their vaccination card or send in a hard copy to the school.

  • If you are unsure about how to proceed, please call the school prior to sending your child to school. You can also email healthoffice@npelem.com.

  • Please note that school districts have been advised not to follow the latest CDC guidelines. We are in the process of reviewing the newest guidelines provided by the DOH. We recognize that the protocol is confusing as it changes regularly and we appreciate your patience.

Thank you for your continued support. We are working hard to provide in-person instruction for our students and thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate this difficult time.

The Department of Health (DOH) recently made substantial changes to the guidance regarding COVID and schools. In an effort to be as transparent as possible, we have created the following COVID Protocol cheat sheet. This is a live document so as changes are made, they will be immediately available. Please email healthoffice@npelem.com if you have any questions.

Optional Voluntary COVID Testing for Students

  • COVID testing is available to all students at the school every Friday 10:30am-12:00pm.

  • Online preregistration must be completed first using THIS form.

  • The testing site will then email a link to the provided email address. The link must be completed within 72 hours of receipt.

  • The first time that your child is tested, you will need to complete a consent form. Copies will be available in the Main Office.

  • A parent/guardian must be present for testing.

  • We encourage you to register your child just in case you ever want them tested at the school in the coming weeks. Your child cannot be tested unless the registration is completed at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Registration does not require your child to get tested, just ensures that they are able to get tested if and when you decide that it is needed.

HIB Self Assessment GradeBeginning with the 2011-2012 school year, our school district has conscientiously implemented the requirements found in the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act by implementing a number of strategies to prevent harassment, intimidation and bullying. While completing the Self-Assessment, we learned that our school district has demonstrated strengths in providing a wide variety of opportunities for our students to engage in positive learning experiences focused on character building. We continue to make improvements as we increase staff training opportunities and fine tune our character education program. If you have any questions regarding HIB, please contact Mrs. Bittner or Ms. O’Donnell. If you would like to report an incident, complete the form located at the provided link or come into the Main Office for a copy. Thank you for working with us to provide a safe, happy learning environment for all students.
