National Park School offers breakfast and lunch programs through Sodexo Food Services. Breakfast is offered daily and served in the classroom at the start of each school day. Your child may bring a bag lunch or purchase a lunch in school. Milk may also be purchased in the cafeteria. No carbonated beverages are permitted. This is a “closed lunch” program and no student will be permitted to leave the school grounds solely for lunch. An application to receive free or reduced food service for your child is provided at the beginning of the school year and is also available on the district website.

We utilize a computerized debit system that replaces the traditional cash registers. The system has proven to streamline our reporting, help improve our cafeteria line speed, and add flexibility to your payment options. It allows you to pay in advance for meals and/or snack foods. The system works with a barcode reader located near the end of the serving line. It allows your child to scan an individualized barcode to access their account. Please note that this system is very confidential. All students will be required to scan their barcode regardless of meal status or payment method, thus insuring your child’s privacy.

Money will only be deducted from an account when the student uses the account to purchase meals and/or snacks. The system will know the meal status of your student (full-pay, free, or reduced) and will deduct the correct amount from the account.

If you wish to pay by cash or check, please place the payment in a properly marked envelope and send it to school with your child. Make checks payable to: Sodexo School Services. For safety purposes, we recommend that advanced payments be sent in the form of a check. If you are paying for more than one student in the same school with one payment, please note how much money is to be designated to each student’s account. If you do not specify, the deposit amount will be divided equally between siblings’ accounts. These funds are then deposited into your child’s debit account and are available to your child when purchasing meals and/or snack in the cafeteria. The account balance simply decreases as purchases take place. We are not able to restrict snack purchases from a student’s account so please inform your child if you do not want him/her using the account to buy snack.

To pay with a credit or debit card, National Park School has enrolled with an online payment service called mySchoolBucks. This payment option is available if you have access to the Internet. The school cannot accept credit card payments directly. This service allows you to pay for your child’s school meals, as well as snack, using your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card. To use the service, you must first enroll at the website. A valid email address is required, as you will receive payment confirmation via email. Payments are automatically downloaded daily into the school’s cafeteria computer system. More information is available at the mySchoolBucks website: www.myschoolbucks.com. Another benefit of using mySchoolBucks is the ability to check your child’s cafeteria purchases and balances online.
